September 11th Remembrance

Visitors to the LBJ Library and Museum are invited to help us remember the victims of the September 11th terror attacks. A University of Texas Air Force ROTC Honor Guard unit will begin the day with in a flag raising ceremony that culminates by lowering the American flag to half staff at 7:46 a.m., the time when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Then members of the public are invited to read the names and hometowns of the people who perished on 9/11 along with quotes that typify the American spirit. You can also view the names of those killed in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the four flights which will be displayed along the entire East Side of the Library and Museum exterior. Stop by anytime during the day of September 11th to join us in this remembrance ceremony.
