Evening With Ron White

Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 6:00 p.m.
Connally Ballroom
University of Texas Alumni Center

Reception to follow.

In 2009, America will celebrate the bicentennial of one of our most influential presidents, Abraham Lincoln. As we conclude celebrations for the centennial of President Johnson, we thought it opportune to also celebrate our 16th president. Ron White is an expert on Abraham Lincoln, having written three books about him. His most recent book, A. Lincoln: A Biography, premiered on The New York Times’ bestseller list in its first week of release last month. Mr. White is a Fellow at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, and a Visiting Professor of History at UCLA. He has also taught at Princeton Theological Seminary, Whitworth University, Colorado College, Fuller Seminary, and Rider University, and has lectured at universities and organizations across the country, including the White House and the Library of Congress.

Mr. White will sign copies of A. Lincoln: A Biography for a limited time directly before the event. Copies of the book will be available for sale that evening. To assure being able to purchase personally inscribed copies of the book, guests may place advance orders with the LBJ Museum Store. For details, please call the Store at (512) 232-2396. Members of the Friends receive a 15% discount on purchases.

Please return the postcard enclosed with your invitation or email your RSVP to friends@lbjlibrary.net by February 16 to indicate your attendance. Tickets are required and will be mailed to those who RSVP affirmatively. Guest tickets may be purchased and picked up at the event.

The Alumni Center is located at 2110 San Jacinto across the street from the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on The University of Texas campus. We suggest parking in the San Jacinto Garage or the Brazos Street Garage at a cost of no more than $8. There is also a limited number of metered spots on San Jacinto.
