Tax-Free Shopping Weekend at the LBJ Library and Museum Store

Holiday shoppers can avoid “mall madness” and get a break on state sales taxes at the same time at the LBJ Library and Museum Store’s tax-free shopping weekend on December 3rd and 4th.

New items:
***2006 Presidential Desserts Calendar which includes Lady Bird Johnson’s recipe for Peach Ice Cream. During his presidency, the Johnsons shipped fresh peaches from the Stonewall, Texas, area to the White House to be used in this dessert, described as “fruity, refreshing and most delicious”.

***A spectacular pop-up book of The White House. Produced by the White House Historical Association, this isn’t a book, but a 3D look at the treasures found inside this famous house: view details of the State Rooms from a fold out carousel, a fan opens up with portraits of First Ladies, pull out a removable map of the National Mall and a take a peak inside the West Wing. Every page is filled with interesting facts about the architecture, paintings, music, and entertainment at the White House.
