Brands and nationally recognized experts in the fields of education, electronic archives and information age technologies to look at what lies ahead for Presidential Libraries. The conference is co-sponsored by the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum and the National Archives and Records Administration, which administers the 10 Presidential Libraries. Beschloss, an award-winning historian and author, will deliver the keynote address. John Carlin, Archivist of the United States, will provide closing remarks at the end of the two-day conference. Topics covered in the conference include the effect of new communication technologies on Presidential Libraries; access issues that include the declassification process and the impact of the Presidential Records Act; the new and growing role of education in Presidential Libraries and whether Presidential Libraries should become places of historical and public policy debate. |
