The scanned photos in the digital archive are in two formats. JPEG files are for viewing with your Web browser. JPEG images average about 100 KB or less. TIFF formatted files are higher resolution and thus MUCH larger files. Their size varies from about 5 MB for B/W images to about 14 MB for Color. If you need high resolution reproduction select TIF, otherwise chose the JPG image.

All of the images are from the Library’s collections.  Most of these images are in the public domain.  Some can be used with a credit to indicate souce; the remainder are in the public doman and carry no usage fee.  The Library has no objection to their use in productions or publications.
